Internal Investigations

Internal Investigations are a critical component of an effective compliance program. Even companies with the best compliance programs inevitably experience violations of law and company policy, which may subject the company to criminal and civil liability, harmful publicity, and loss of public confidence. Internal investigations are crucial for maintaining integrity, compliance, and risk management.

It is key for every successful business owner, executive, or manager to find out what is going on in your business before a whistleblower makes any allegations, or worse, the feds knock on your door. If you are not the first to address the legal risks, a government investigator will do it for you.  

Proper internal investigations are formal inquiries conducted within an organization, by and independent 3rd party, to examine allegations of misconduct or policy violations. These typically involve gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and documenting findings to determine the facts of a situation and recommend appropriate actions.  Leveraging my experience as a former Federal Prosecutor and Agent, I know how to ask the questions your managers don't know how to ask or are not comfortable asking your employees.
